Cross River Re-Engineers Rural Transformation Efforts

Cross River State is making concerted efforts towards reflecting its slogan as the People’s Paradise”, as it ventures on the path of becoming a major investment hub in Nigeria.

The State has begun strategizing on techniques that can be engineered towards driving the vision of Governor Ben Ayade to create an entity that adopts private sector values in delivering high-quality public services.

As part of this, the State is working on improving the provision of basic social and economic amenities to address the challenges of the rural communities, while also developing its latent natural resources.

The Cross River State Commissioner for Rural Transformation, Establishment and Training, Mr. Sunday Archunekang, reiterated the governor’s agenda to collaborate with the private sector and donor agencies to enhance development in rural and urban areas.

While meeting with the team from TL First Group, a notable global consulting company, the Commissioner noted that undoubtedly, rural dwellers have continued to enjoy social amenities. He, however, affirmed the importance of a re-engineering process in rural areas.

Commending the Ministry’s workforce for exhibiting strong capabilities and competence, the TL First UK team lead, Dr. Olu Olasode, proposed partnering with the Ministry on the need to rapidly advance leadership, management and programme delivery skills across government while applying new and modern tools to track the effectiveness of strategies and achieve desired outcomes.
