Job Description
As Executive Assistant to the Chairman/GMD, you will perform diversified functions across operations, programme management, business development, executive support, personal assistance, and logistics. Reporting directly to the Chairman/GMD, you will work alongside business teams in Nigeria and overseas to create technical reports, deliver business development presentations, build the corporate brand, manage GMD’s activities in Nigeria, and serve as the primary point of contact on all matters concerning the Office of the Chairman/GMD. You will also be the nominated Czar for quality control, documentation and knowledge management, and may be required to work independently on projects, from conception to completion.
We require someone entrepreneurial, intellectually sound, and vibrant, with strong organisational skills, excellent communications skills, and demonstrable experience in research, business analysis, management presentations, data visualization, ghost-writing and personal assistance. With the ability to work independently and in a small team, you must have a great eye for detail, be able to maintain the strictest personal and commercial confidentiality, and have proven experience in a similar capacity, ideally in management consulting, executive education, or leadership development, with some international exposure.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage executives’ calendars, correspondence, and materials preparation.
- Anticipate needs, maintain confidentiality, and act as a point of contact.
- Assist with projects, streamline processes, and collaborate with teams.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders for meetings and events.
- Monitor and communicate key performance indicators related to executives’ objectives.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency in administrative processes.
- Stay updated on industry trends and changes relevant to the business.
Requirements
1. Master’s degree, supported by relevant professional qualifications.
2. Minimum of five years experience in either consulting, supporting policy development, strategy development, innovation, or capacity building in the public sector.
3. Lateral thinker adept at uncovering the themes and critical information to spark innovations.
4. Inspired by disruptive innovation in the public sector and transformational ideas and be able to stoke the fires of those around you able to form thoughtful and considered perspectives.
5. A high strategic mindset that likes to crack increasingly complex public sector challenges and articulate truly transformational insights.
6. Experience in the development of improved models of service delivery in the public sector and working with senior public sector leaders.
7. Effective in team-working and relationship management across different levels of government.
8. Working across and managing multiple live projects at any given point in time.
9. Designing and overseeing qualitative research activities, macroeconomic, market and social forces.
10. Strong experience of generating ideas, thinking creatively, and inspiring ideas in others, whilst demonstrating humility and open-mindedness.
11. Verbal and visual articulation of the strategic narrative
12. Exceptional command of the English language in both writing and speech, being able to leverage it with nuance and panache.
