Job Description
The Senior Finance Officer is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with regulations. Key duties include managing budgets, preparing financial statements, and providing analysis to guide strategic decisions. The role also involves overseeing audits, tax filings, and managing cash flow. This position requires strong financial management and leadership skills to optimize resources and support organizational goals. The Senior Finance Officer collaborates closely with other departments to drive financial efficiency and long-term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Collaborating with finance experts, managers, and executives to develop and execute financial strategies and business plans.
2. Targeting clients effectively and enhancing the company’s reputation in the finance sector.
3. Overseeing cost consulting, producing accounts, and preparing budget forecasts.
4. Ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulations.
5. Managing tax payments and returns and auditing financial transactions and documents.
6. Computing tax returns, balance sheets, and profit/loss statements.
7. Reconciling accounts payable and receivable.
8. Ensuring timely publication of financial statements to uphold transparency and accountability standards.
9. Staying updated on finance trends and best practices.
10. Contributing to the improvement of financial solutions and maintaining the company’s reputation as a leading financial consultancy in Nigeria.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A master’s degree or professional certification such as ACCA and ICAN is preferred.
- Experience: Proven experience in finance, business development, or high-profile client relationship management, with a minimum of 2 years in a similar role.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary for interpreting financial data, identifying trends, and making informed decisions.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues, are necessary for success in
this role. - Location: Must be based in Nigeria or willing to relocate to Lagos or Abuja. Occasional international travel may be required.
