Climate Finance, Energy Transition & Sustainable
Development
Nigeria and Africa face a paradox at the heart of the global energy transition: the continent contributes least to global emissions yet faces the most severe climate impacts, while simultaneously needing affordable energy to power economic development. This programme positions senior leaders to navigate this complex landscape, from understanding climate finance mechanisms and accessing green bonds, blended finance, and multilateral climate funds, to managing the transition away from fossil fuel dependence while protecting energy security and fiscal revenues. Participants will engage directly with UK-based climate finance institutions, explore real-world energy transition strategies from comparable economies, and develop a strategic A framework for their own organisations and sectors.
