Programme Introduction
Mining, power and energy remain among the most consequential and most male-dominated sectors in the global economy. Women who reach senior leadership in these industries face a distinct set of challenges: building executive presence in rooms where few look like them, navigating complex regulatory and governance frameworks, and proving commercial and technical credibility while also being expected to lead cultural change.
This executive programme is designed for senior women leaders across mining, power and energy who are ready to move from operational excellence into strategic and board-level influence. Delivered through expert-led sessions, international benchmarking, a UK study tour and executive peer review, the programme equips participants to lead with authority, govern with rigour, and build the networks that open doors at the top
Programme Objectives
By the end of the programme, participants will be able to:
- Strengthen strategic leadership and executive presence in male-dominated environments.
- Understand board governance, non-executive roles and director effectiveness.
- Navigate sector-specific regulatory frameworks, including the Mining Act, the PIA, and energy transition policy
- Apply financial literacy in mining economics and energy finance to senior decision-making
- Lead large infrastructure projects and major contracts with commercial confidence
- Embed ESG, sustainability and social licence considerations into leadership decisions
- Learn from international benchmarks on how leading organisations advance women into senior roles
- Build a personal leadership brand and a global stakeholder network
- Leave with a personal leadership action plan for their organisation.
