The PTI is mandated to provide competent technological manpower through quality training, consultancy and research for the Petroleum and Allied Industries through
1. Eradicate Smuggling
Research and development of tracking Technology (TTech)of oil and gas to curb smuggling of petroleum products across the Nigerian borders.
2. Gas Flare Commercialization
Research and development on enabling governance framework and regulatory environment on Clean Development Mechanism (CDM)Technology for Nigeria that will generate emission credits through projects in various sectors of the oil and gas industry to reduce
greenhouse gas emission and flaring.
3. Increase Crude Oil Production
Develop research papers on enhanced Oil recovery techniques.
Pursue aggressive workover campaign.
Improve regulatory environment by streamlining regulatory and licensing process.
Production of locally formulated drilling fluids for enhanced oil recovery.
Design production facility monitoring devices and develop artificial intelligence systems.
4. Reduce Crude Oil Extraction Cost
Research and development on advanced technology and integration of the upstream, midstream and downstream production for production optimization and reduction in cost of extraction of crude oil.
7. Increase Domestic Refining
Design, construct and operate 2500 bpd self-sustainable modular refinery integrated with fluid catalytic cracker (FCC).
8 & 9. Increase Jobs And Reduce Poverty
Provide low level manpower certification and training for the focal areas of the oil and gas industry and allied industries. Also involvement in basic Skill development acquisitions thereby strategically taking millions of Nigerians out of poverty.
Short Term
Develop research papers on enhanced Oil recovery techniques.
Provide capacity building and competence training to Partner Agencies on tracking and security management.
Ensure all Oil and Gas training are industry driven.
